Oh my dearest, must we part so soon?
I love my speakers. Last summer (when still using the 760i’s) I’ve listened to various models at stores, tried out the Epos ELS3 at home (they sucked), was going to buy the B&W DM-602, but then I suddenly came across this pair of Missions. I bought them, hooked them onto my amp and never regretted the purchase ever since… that is… perhaps until today. To say that I actually regret buying them would by much too strong a statement, but today I was painfully confronted with a weakness: bass. Together with a friend I had a listening session at the local hifi store and he let me hear an album of Garbage that I didn’t yet know. It sounded cool, especially its (deep) bass range. That is, on the better speakers in the line-up. Quite a few of especially the monitor models painfully failed to reach the really deep basses… and… I just found out by listening to the same cd that mine can’t reach that deeper bass either :( …
Of course one should be happy with one’s possessions, but this is really itching… they had a pair of other Missions on sale which I can’t resist to check out somewhere in the next week…
